Abstract: The Regional Chamber of Commerce upon moving to a new location requested Creative Signcrafters to fabricate a sign from a specified design.
Procedure: It was requested early in the project by the client that the colors and layout would not be varied.
Determination: Although not obvious in the photo, the rings are designed as paint brush strokes. This was problematic for the technology used to produce the dimensional letters as the cuts would not be as sharp as the digital rendering and would look too rounded. It quickly became obvious that we would overlay the rings with a high-quality digital graphic. The colors would be painted so we had a limited number of choices in materials. From the latter choices the most cost-effective material was chosen. The lettering is 1/2" thick PVC painted to specification and the rings are digital vinyl overlays on 1/2" thick PVC. The bottom pill is 1/2" thick painted PVC with applied vinyl lettering. All letters and graphics are stud mounted into stucco with plywood backing.
